We have a thorough pastoral system in place to ensure our students have all the support they need. Every student is allocated a tutor group and a personal tutor who is there to monitor the student's progress, but also to . Each tutor group belongs to a House, headed by a member of staff who is there to offer further support and guidance. We are very proud of our pastoral care and support and our dedicated team will be on call to help when it is needed. Heads of House are supported by two Senior Heads of House, a Student Welfare Officer, a part-time counsellor, an Assistant Principal and the Associate Principal (student welfare and ethos). Through our tutorial programme we discuss safeguarding issues with all of our students to ensure that they are aware of how to keep themselves safe. This includes areas such as online safety and health. SFX staff continuously updates policies and tutorials in the light of emerging issues.
Attendance & Punctuality Procedures
Our teachers lead by example by being punctual and prepared for lessons and ensuring that every lesson is a valuable experience with effective starter activities that are worth being punctual for. Teachers record attendance and punctuality accurately on the day of the lesson and follow up poor attendance and persistent lateness.
Bursaries/free college meals will be available in 2018 – 2019. However, these are subject to Government funding and will be assessed on an income basis.
Ofsted 2018: “Students feel safe and have a good understanding of safeguarding.”
