Foundation Learning Diploma BTEC Level 1

Course type: Foundation Learning • Awarding/exam body: Edexcel
Equivalent to 4 GCSEs at Grades D-G.

The Introductory Diploma (sometimes referred to as Foundation Learning) is flexible and personalised to meet the needs of individual students. The course is designed to encourage students to develop the personal skills and qualities they need for work and learning and to help them achieve their full potential. It is a practical “hands on” course, which includes a one week work placement, taught in the context of real jobs and careers in various industries. You will receive credits and/or individual certificates for the qualifications that you achieve within the framework.

All units are internally assessed and include assignments and coursework.

An Introductory Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades D-G. With successful completion of the course you may apply to proceed to Level 2 courses. Alternatively, you may progress to work or training, such as an apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific course entry requirements. However, a good record of attendance and punctuality is needed with ability to meet deadlines and work independently and as part of a team.
