Equivalent to 3 A levels.
This course is a broad-based qualification designed to prepare students for a range of careers in Health & Social Care or for entry into Higher Education. A work placement is a mandatory requirement of the course.

Just under 100% of the course is assessed by coursework.
* Unit 6: Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care requires 100 hours of work experience to be completed. Almost all work placements require a DBS check to prove there is nothing preventing the student from working in the Health & Social Care industry. A fee of £44 will need to be paid for the DBS check.
Most students progress to university to follow a degree course in midwifery, social work, paediatric, adult or mental health nursing, primary teaching, psychology, criminology or health and social care. There are also a number of employment opportunities for students directly after the course.
Grade 4 in Maths and Grade 4 in Core Science preferred
