Engineering BTEC Level 3 National Diploma with BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Physics

Course type: BTEC/UAL Level 3 Diplomas • Awarding/exam body: Edexcel
Equivalent to 3 A levels.

The UK is regarded as a world leader in engineering including renewable energy, space, aerospace, creative industries, automotive and civil. By 2020 the engineering sector is projected to have 2.74 million job opportunities.

The course allows learners to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required for progression into a range of roles within the industry using relevant software throughout the course. At SFX students will gain a thorough grounding in engineering theory principles, putting these into practice through classroom experiments, industry visits and university partnerships. The Project (Unit 3) integrates the knowledge and skills learners have gained throughout their programme of study into a major piece of work which could be a product, device or service.

The inclusion of Applied Physics ensures that students have a thorough grounding in the basics of scientific investigation, laboratory work and science in the media. This is a compulsory part of the course and may not be exchanged for another subject.
